The younger of two brothers who survived a Christmas Day tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo was arrested on suspicion of trying to steal two video game controllers from a San Leandro store, police said Friday.
He packed 2 Nintendo Wii controllers in his pants and tried to make a break for it.. there's a level of intelligence we don't see every day. He was nailed by an undercover plain clothes security officer as Paul Dhaliwal made his way past the cash registers with his "gifts", but was uncooperative in the process of restraining him.
These kids track records aren't too rosy:
On Sept. 7, 2007, both men (men?) were charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest while Paul Dhaliwal was also charged with misdemeanor battery on a police officer in that same incident.
Paul Dhaliwal was cited Dec. 21 for allegedly having 1.8 grams of pot in his pocket while in the parking lot of a Milpitas hotel.
Keeping that track record alive, he had been placed on probation three days before that incident after pleading no contest to felony reckless driving and other charges for leading police on a 140 mph chase on April 28.
LOL - I'm sure these are all mistaken situations. I think their lawyer has a tough uphill battle here or they need some serious spin doctors.

Stuff Falling From Space
Heads up.. stuff is coming from the sky!!An Australian outback farmer is on a mission since an object he believes to be from outer space went splat (he theororizes) on his 40,500-hectare property last November.
When he first found it, he called the Aerospace Corporation, a research arm of the US Government, to identify the strange ball of twisted metal but since he's gotten no prompt answer, (No! A government office slow on the response to a UFO inquiry?) he took matters into his own hands and hit the internet doing his own research into it and came up with the following:
- The object is a helium tank wrapped in carbon fiber from a booster rocket used to launch communications satellites. Mr Stirton said the ball appears to have landed partially on a tree stump, making a crater a few centimeters deep before rolling about 5m to its resting spot.
According to the source article I'm looking at, approximately 200 pieces of space junk – parts of satellites and jettisoned rockets – re-enter the atmosphere each year and though most of it disintegrates on reentry, some pieces survive and go ker-plunk on the ground.
Hmm.. I always joke about if my days' luck is bad enough, I'd be hit by a meteorite. Maybe I should change that joke.

Any Good at Paper Rock Scissors?
Odd question indeed, but if you're really good at 'Paper, Rock, Scissors', you might consider taking on some of the best and before you start laughing at the prospect of a national, organized league, you might consider the fact that winning the league in June will net you a $50,000 first place prize for your talents.
Yep, that's not a typo.
Building on two years of success, the Bud Light sponsored USA Rock Paper Scissors League (USARPS) Championship is going global in 2008 with a contest taking place on June 22, 2008 at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas vying for the $50 grand first place prize. If you win this event, you would get to go to Beijing, China during the summer Olympics.
In case you want to know, " The process to identify the 2008 USARPS League champion begins with local qualifying matches across the country. Tournaments are currently underway in 300 markets nationwide and will continue through April 30, when 300-plus finalists worthy of competing for the sports' richest prize will have earned their tickets to Vegas. The five countries joining the U.S. for the international competition in Beijing will conduct their tournaments concurrently."

In case the site doesn't really pique your curiosity, there are some 'nice' videos on the site. That's all I'm gonna say.

What's the Point In Voting
What is the point in voting when the popular, or majority of the voters are pushed aside for the caucus numbers? I can get so confused by this highly politically balanced system.
"The Texas Secretary of State will release the official results of the Democratic primary on March 29th. But if initial estimates hold, Barack Obama will beat Hillary Clinton in the race for delegates. CNN confirms what others have been seeing for days. While Clinton won the state's popular vote, Obama racked up more caucus support, so that, now that the dust is settling, the Lone Star state's delegate total reads:
Obama: 61 delegates from the popular vote + 38 delegates from caucuses = 99 delegates.
Clinton: 65 delegates from the popular vote + 29 delegates from Caucuses = 94 delegates.
It seems the voice of the people themselves is lost in the system.
I'm not saying boo, Clinton lost.. Nor am I saying don't vote.. Voting is an important process for all to participate in when you have an opinion on an issue or candiditorial race...
What I do say is this is one heck of a historical year in as much as the candidates are concerned and I'm proud to be part of this time frame where I have lived to see this, but why should I go out and vote if my vote may be ix-nayed in favor of some other number?

A Sad Day for Dungeon and Dragons Enthusiasts
Dungeons and Dragons co-creator, Gary Gygax passed away on March 4th, 2008 at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin at the age of 69. He also help found Tactical Studies Rules, or the gaming company TSR, that many of us know it as.
His death was confirmed by his wife, Gail Gygax, who said he had been ailing and had recently suffered an abdominal aneurysm.
He cast his last dice roll. Thanks for all the sleepless nights of fun and games Gary. Rest in Peace.
